Shadows (Free verse) by darren67
Lonely nights slip silently past empty days Each feeding the void within my soul. Like a labyrinth within my mind I'm trapped in the futility of meaningless existence. While others choose to play the game I lay somnolent and wounded; a spectator of life. Ever deeper I dig trenches that provide me safety Walls, that one day will collapse around me To smother and suffocate that which it once protected.

Up the ladder: Little lady
Down the ladder: Fatty Nerd Trilogy

I can relate completely to your theme. Read my poem "human self pity" see if you like it. At least you are aware of the "unreal" things in your life.
