Self-Inflicted Wounds

At last the demons have split the core Of all that I hold dear. The lovers entwined along the path to Hell, May they burn for their happiness? The anger and the illusion of freedom Are all that is left in this cold room. Suffice to say that the end may have come For the last bastion of hope in my soul.

a lot of religious images here. is there something more personal to your own experience that would add meaning?
