Church Propagation (Free verse) by Dovina
As truth is forgotten, piety appears. As wisdom wanes, cleverness and knowledge shine. As peace declines, organization grips. When chaos arrives, A new church is born.

As a christian I am mildly piqued but as a logophile I am mortally offended.:(

I feel you are not critical enough of your own ungodliness. Is religious devotion really a consequence of a truth being 'forgotten' or do the religious search for a truth that was never reachable through non devotion. 'Wisdom wanes cleverness and knowledge shines' I find intriguing although I can not be sure whether you see wisdom waning as a loss that leads to the undeserved precedence of knowledge or that you see something wrong with wisdom that stands in the way of knowledge. In the final couplet chaos can be interpreted as the lack of a truth the predominance of relativism and cynicism that values nothing and that the new church can be a good thing. I don't think you meant that though. The poem sounds good anyway. It is a shame some of the words didn't have different meanings.

I am happy you are piqued and offended. It’s a sign of success. But why should it be because you are a Christian? Observe that as a church forgets the truth of the Gospel, it usually compensates with observances in fake religion which Jesus would have lashed out at, possibly with a whip. The religion of His day had degraded into a form which we can lump into the dirty word “piety.”

“You can't know wisdom, but you can be it, at ease in your own life.” Tao Te Ching. As wisdom in the church wanes, compensation comes in cleverness and knowledge. I just observe these things happening; it is not a position statement as you seem to think. These degradations lead to arguments, which lead to stricter organization. If the situation degrades into strife and chaos, then a portion of the people leave and form another church. Thanks for your comment.

" These degredations lead to arguments, which lead to stricter organization." The church chokes itself. I think this is the root of your poem. This format is too technical for me. Chase it if you will.

I like the whole package, don't listen to the theist sheep.
