Dying Candle (Free verse) by cheese.doodles
The flame’s death Is violent It claws frantically At cold, smothering space As the wax, Its life-blood, Is stolen Away into the greedy air That is Suddenly Dark.

Up the ladder: Facial Bliss
Down the ladder: Revaluations

A good metaphor for something, but what? I can think of several twists. As it stands, you only describe the dying candle.
