A New Deal (Free verse) by oneglove
Down on Pennsylvania They’re putting on a show But I’m here in Anacostia Cause I got no where else to go It wasn’t long ago I was marching down that avenue My uniform’s a bit more tattered My soul’s gettin that way too They say start headin home But it’s all the same to me The dust in Oklahoma Bread lines in Tennessee When brother’s march And fathers’ betray And the ideals you fought for Have all passed away America is burning America is burning to the ground

Up the ladder: Existence
Down the ladder: carpet

based on the bonus march during the depression. i've been fighting with it but it's a work in progress, it just feels generally weak to me. so i guess i'm mainly looking for some help.

Down on Pennsylvania
They’re all very gay
But I’m here in Anacostia
Cause my cock has gone astray.

I like it. Sounds like a Dylan song.

Yeah, Dylan or Pete Seiger could have sung it. Not bad.
