A New Deal (Free verse) by oneglove
Down on Pennsylvania
Theyâre putting on a show
But Iâm here in Anacostia
Cause I got no where else to go
It wasnât long ago
I was marching down that avenue
My uniformâs a bit more tattered
My soulâs gettin that way too
They say start headin home
But itâs all the same to me
The dust in Oklahoma
Bread lines in Tennessee
When brotherâs march
And fathersâ betray
And the ideals you fought for
Have all passed away
America is burning
America is burning to the ground
