Drowning (Lyric) by wilco
I wish you’d stop making me happy. It makes it hard to be myself. I’ve been a blue boy so long I don’t know how to be anything else. With you sitting naked on the bed sipping coffee I can’t even remember my regrets. So I’ll just wrap myself in another cliché of cheap bourbon and unlit cigarettes. Baby, I don’t know why I seem so lonely even when your around I can’t say I love you ‘cause I’m too scared to drown. I’ve seen the difference in all four corners of the last 10 years and how they passed me by. Crawlin’ all around this town from bar to bar but I ain’t never found no truth in a neon sign. I been so caught up in the static that’s bleeding from college radio I almost didn’t notice how your eyes they shine behind your hair and that I don’t want you to go. Baby, I don’t know why I need to be lonely or why it hurts to drown. Don’t know if I love you but I want you around. Baby, I don’t know why I want to be lonely or why it hurts to drown but every time I see you I can feel myself goin’ down.

OK, so I'm doing this thing for Fawm.org where you're supposed to write 14 songs in 28 days. This is the first one and I figured I might as well post it here too. I should have a demo up at some point if anyone cares to hear it.

Hey! I have a poem with the same title. But this is totally different, and enjoyable. Well written, in fact. Loved "So I’ll just wrap myself in another cliché
of cheap bourbon and unlit cigarettes."

Also, S3's "your" should be "you're"

You're right. It should be...typographical error and all that..you know..

Yeah, I get the first line - probably not the way you get it, but doesn't matter. Same for last line of S3. You've got some way to go before you get over saying the first line of S6.

When do we get to hear this piece of yours. Would love to. I like the style in most of your lyrics.
