A LOVERâS TORMENT (Acrostic) by anushree
A chilly winter night as the wind blew I huddled
Near the mantel beneath which the flames burned
Near the warmth but yet as cold as frost
A blizzard blew outside to make any being lost
Hoping for Providence to stop the torrential storm
Until I hear the footsteps of my beloved's form
Near the mantel he must stand in flesh and blood
This I demand from the lord above before the overwhelming flood
