An Old Friend (Free verse) by Dovina
I see you’re still tall after rain and mud holding firm where you where born May I recline with you again rest in your cool shadow your harmonized song with the Breezy Blue-jay Band Whenever I come your tough hide, gentle touch and soft breathy words alleviate the pain A faithful refuge in spite of your wounds Giving is you shade though sunburned protection though broken Summer will be hard Good to see you, old friend Let’s talk again soon

Down the ladder: HOW IT USUALLY ENDS!
