Christmas Break (Free verse) by Plaidypus
I wondered if I still look as pretty as I did in High School; we both knew the answer was no but neither did she. She sat at the counter with me, talking to me, like comfort food, like pancakes her words filled me up with warm, sweet reason "Well you know why, don't you? because every person you meet, you meet them for a reason." And sometimes, when you let a person out of your life, its because they've served their purpose and they were pretty much on their way out already

Up the ladder: The fight
Down the ladder: The Mandarin

What does the last part of the poem, good as it is, have to do with the first verse?
