Stranger (Free verse) by TLRufener Thereâs nothing left
Iâm all alone
Iâm totally lost
I canât find my way home
The darkness is coming
To claim my soul
Iâm spiraling downward
Completely out of control
I have to cover my eyes
To keep out the light
The night is too cold
The day is too bright
My soul canât survive
In the heat of the sun
But I know I will die
If I give up the fun
Where will I go
The world is so mean
Thereâs only daylight and darkness
But Iâm in between
Day is too long
Night is too full of danger
I am forever sentenced
To roam as a stranger
