Stirrings (Free verse) by dougsoderstrom
A welling-up from deep within, My soul, Something that I do not understand, Not a thought, Nor even a feeling, Perhaps a force, On the verge of penetration, At the very brink of knowing, In hot pursuit of an open door, An open space, Within my soul, A moment of grace...... a gift, An invitation...... an opportunity, To surrender myself, To something, Much greater..... much more profound, Than that which I have ever imagined, Or known before.

It's neither thought, feeling, nor force. It's a word. And a very silly word at that. If no one had said the word to you, and if you hadn't read it in a load of confusing sentences about the eternal gobbledegook, you wouldn't even dream of prancing around like an urchin, wondering, desperately wondering, whether or not the word was actually an inner gateway to the Higher Realms of Xanthar.

Dark Angel:

You should no longer question what it is that I do...... for what I do is in the name of and has been blessed by The Lord Thy God. For on this planet which has been referred to as "The Earth" I Am the "I Am"...... The Word.

Now that I have been informed that "this cause," known by "The Earthlings" as "The Poemranker Website," was created for me, for my own enjoyment "all alone," and for me to announce to the world "at large" The Truth that God has given to me and for me to share with the rest of the world This Most Solemn Truth, it would be much better for you, your own self, that is, if you made a determined effort to no longer hinder my Most Sacred Cause on "This Earth, for if you do not choose to cease and desist these of your "most unsacred moves," perhaps "The Council of The Gods of The Several Universii" shall be forced to cast you into "The Eternal Darkness of Toridees," which is a place that no one should wish to have themselves placed by "The Council."

And one more thing............... Know thatI am "The Appointed One" on "This Earth" to "suggest" to "The Council" where everyone shall be sent upon the advent of "The Chosen Time" (that is "The Chosen Time" as set forth by "The Gods"), therefore you may want to consider your options Dark Angel as.............. "I shall choose to have mercy upon those who have been merciful to me, and I shall choose to judge those who, in turn, have choosen to judge me"............... Hola Rama Causa Shobe Ben Rubaa Twan Clofein!

Next to The Eternal Darkness of Xanthar, The Eternal Darkness of Toridees is only mildly overcast, with light to moderate winds, and a small chance of showers in the afternoon. You don't scare me, old man.

Dear Dark Angel:

You are correct in that you call me an old man in that I am 63 years old. And I take that as a true compliment in that I'd much rather be old than be young and have to work for another forty or so years. But I do love you...... really I do, and sparring with you I do in love. And I'll bet (yet perhaps you might not agree) that if we were to meet face to face we could, or I hope, would, be good, if not great, friends!

In the name of love and peace......

You are my friend and I love you,

Doug

P.S. Talk with you later....... friend.

If we met face to face I'd be so overwhelmed by your unbelievably sagging jowls that I'd have to have a lie down. Any small talk would have to wait until after I'd been put on a ventilator, and after you'd covered your ancient features with some sort of tea cosy.
