happy birthday (Prose Poem) by rnsbreeze
Two words to mark the passing Of yet another year Of someone who is precious So warm, and yes so dear. You brought to me the joy Of childhood and life, When everything at the time Was filled with undue strife. When my own kids were growing up To them you were so kind A thought, a prayer, a nice word Were always brought to mind. How can I ever repay you? With these words so simple two All the love that you have given I can only give back to you. Happy birthday seems so simple But it brings my heart to sing That every day in every way You are my everything.

Down the ladder: The years write us
