The Spaz (Sonnet) by ?-Dave_Mysterious-?
Hi, some people call me a spastic, Others just call me Simon. Sure, I suffer from spastic paralysis, And OK, I have problems with involuntary movement, Disturbance in gait and mobility, Difficulty in swallowing, speech impediments, Abnormal sensation and perception, Seizures, Mental retardation, Sores and skin disorders, Feeding difficulties, And no bladder or bowel control, The cumulative effect of which is that I appear like some kind of writhing, half-human slug, Monged out on homebrewed beatnik wine, But hey, here's something ot think about... I have never started a war for oil, Or strafed a classroom full of school children. I have never had the pleasure of beating up an Asian, Then bundling him into a sack and throwing him off a pier. I am not a greased up, money grabbing slum-lord, Milking extrotionate fees from stinking Dagos, Or a wart-ridden pimp on skag. I am not even capable of rape. And I have never rolled a drunk, Or kicked a beggar in the balls on a cold winter's night. So is it really me who is the spaz? Yes. Yes it is.

Up the ladder: As It Is
Down the ladder: Eight thousand clay tiles

This is clearly not a sonnet, shame on you. Stick to the rules buddy.

Sure, it doesn't obey the *conventional* rules of a sonnet, but why shouldn't I experiment with new forms of sonnet? I don't even acknowledge the conventional meaning of the word "conventional." That is how non-conformist I am.

A poet is someone who uses words to communicate, for such a person to sabotage the meanings of words is a bit like sawing off the branch that is holding you up. A sonnet is a set form, if you wish to design a new form, do so, but have the dignity to devise your own name for it as well instead of trying to steal the grandeur of those, who in their respect of the form made it great, and thus gave it the accolades you seek to touch by erroneously naming your poem a sonnet. Sonnet forms that are not regularly used by a large number of quality poets are little more than illusory shadows in the corners of deluded minds

You are an indescribably colossal boob.
