dear jim d. (Free verse) by peaceseeker
when i catch a glimpse of my reflection
the girl staring back at me is not the girl
i imagine her to be in my reality
i mean, she is not who i expect to see
the same girl who loves being clean of green
however, my inebriation is a distinct vacation
from disentangling myself from the trap
of a life that demands transcendence, now.
and you, my sugar plum fairy of a guy
keeping me at arms length with your passion
not quite sure what to make of my affection
"we'll see what happens" your sweet mantra
i will sing to you bill withers "use me"
with joy and in harmony with her "sexy" voice
dance "tight" but as wild as a willow tree
and let you go to live as free as me.
