Wanting (Free verse) by J.B. Manning
I long to see your face To taste If nothing else The pleasure of your insult I yearn to touch your skin To walk with you To once again Speak of nothing and everything between us I dare to flow You know The words I need to show To you To me To set again my soul so free Walk with me into yesterday or tomorrow But never today Because it’s cold here And I much prefer the beach I am cheap You say Or want to say But not so much as the movie Or the play So you stay Away
