Contrasts (Free verse) by Quarton
Season's first snowfall, clamor like winter's past, traffic jams; horns blaring; snow blowers revving and shovels scraping. Muttered curses muffled by city noises; harsh neon lights. Deep in the woods, a sparkling white carpet; sunlight streaming; painted tree branches silhouetted against crystsalline skies. In a clearing, spring born fox frolicking; nose buried playfully in just discovered snow. Excuse the silence.
