Days of November When It Never Get Light (Free verse) by Nicholas Jones
Rain hits my slanted window And I awake; the house makes sounds To thwart my dream of sleep, And even the World Service Fails in its soporific task. I tuck my blankets in well Because I am afraid of falling out And only flimsy bannisters Separate me from the stairs That lead down from my attic room.
