Rancor (Free verse) by Dovina
The Ranker hemorrhaged inwardly
took on tepid water
listed, cracked, and silenced
now it slowly sinks
Sturdy Ranker, strong of form
abandoned ship of fools
Ahoy there, Alchemy
adrift on froth and crest
Farewell, Ranger
may the way you swim find shore
Even zodiac, may you survive for
the few times you made sense
Rockmage, god-awful geezer
drown
May both of you dark angels
find magic in some other
wing-shaped poo
Caducus has slipped aboard
a ship for Laureate
Amanda Decosta has
gone to heaven
Dr. Nick still calls to Nogod
even in the end
Prince of Void has sucked the deep for years
nothinâs really changed
Jearmie and all his aliases
howl with werewolves in the night
And I, only I, am left to tell you
As I cling with newbies to the tilting mast
Ladies and gentlemen
it has been a pleasure sailing with you
