The Angle of your Downfall (Free verse) by MacFrantic
I'd bet that little Icarus in his descent Felt nothing of your wingless departure Yes the sun and yes the ocean But you never doubted You rigged that safety net And for each profanity laden sermon As the commoners watched your dive For every headline breaking story The angle of you downfall became Curiouser and curiouser However you die You have flown amongst the clouds Found that righteous aperture And risen above them But your broken body lands Again and again Suffering the blows of ruin
