Of the Lady on the Bridge (Other) by Verse2Verse
Every now and then I see the Lady on the bridge. She's got a day; she's got long hair, And a sparkle with a tint. Not many know, she comes and goes, She's got someplace to be. The paths behind and ahead behold What remains here for us to see. Every now and then I see her, Perched upon that bridge. Watching the waters beneath Run off with the wind. Pushed upon and cast along, Another "fool" with a broken wing. Left wondering where it is That she's supposed to be. The choices she's made, Some suppressed and some laid. Have together led her To this shadowy bridge. She stands in a stare While the waters wash her bare, Of all the broken pieces She tries to forget. Where was that turn? A crossroad between now and then. All the blinded signs had passed, Leaving a new trail to begin. A frozen face in time, The little girl she once was. Would have played among these waters, A heart full of love. Still the sun will shine And she still has the day. To pick it all up Or just walk away. Jump into the stream Collect all the pieces. Or trod with the sun And leave all the reasons.
