If God Was a Nihilist (Free verse) by baughworm
And if God was a nihilist, Would we still have Wal-Mart? (smiles and sweatshops) Would Columbus have even ever Looked out to sea? (slaughter and slavery) Would Milton have bothered Paining students who would Rather be drinking in smoky bars? Would we still have fallen? (apples and condoms) If God didn’t care, Could everyone sing in Voices of angels and Dance in the fields, Not sit scowling, Guns in lap, Protecting our fences? (neighbors and pirates) If God was a nihilist, Would Satan, by now, Have bored with his Spiteful meddling? (ignore him and he’ll go away) And, could we then finally claim, Without hesitation, That man is Good.
