Lies of Society’s Guise (Other) by PsydewaysTears
Gone to a world nothing like here. No more “normal” year after year And no more of the same old cheer. —Gone to a world nothing like here. Here’s a toast to: shedding the first tear, Speaking openly of what we fear And staying true to what we hold dear. —Here’s a toast to shedding the first tear. You’re welcome to come, just give me your hand. I’ll whisk us away to a far off land. Prepare your eyes, for they’ll see something grand —You’re welcome to come, just give me your hand. I’ll teach you the things that you don’t understand, Of seeing the truth and watching it expand And of living in life-sized castles of sand. —I’ll teach you the things that you don’t understand. If you don’t want to stay, well that’s ok. It’s not even a real place anyway. You can stay stuck in that lonely cliché. —If you don’t want to stay, well that’s ok. It may not be made of dirt or clay But it still helps me to face each day By painting over the brown and gray. —It may not be made of dirt or clay. I’ll just stick with my lies tonight. The real world is too full of spite. I can’t make everything alright. —I’ll just stick with my lies tonight.
