Down With Ingenuity (Free verse) by Dovina
working against the common good as much as for us, it’s the worst of human traits. Inventing vaccines one day, nerve gas the next, ingenuity works against us for nothing but its own blind satisfaction. To leave it uncurbed and unsocialized is the worst of human oversight. Everyone asks for freedom— the businessman free trade, the woman free love, the writer free press. But none should be as ambitious as they can, none should be as ingenious. Bounds should be set on bringing unguided change on the unready. My name is Dovina. I’m running for president!
