Friends (Free verse) by Dovina
We stand for asparagus and music as therapy for a mind of age twenty and memory of fifty for the x in sex. With e for enigma and love’s death-like future we look for unnoticed rabbits and bums and hope for spontaneity at a midnight keyboard. With edgy smiles and propriety’s curse we despise mundane prose and anything trite and prefer a good poem to the morning news. We let the dishes go unwashed, the car ungassed let the rug gather dust, and the family disgust while we write little missives they don’t understand. May we live long and thrive.
