The green of the grass brushes my cheek As I lay in your bed and remember the day The day the clouds covered the blue sky When the heavens called down And said for us to be together The darkness of my heart I overcame With your sparkling eyes and loveable smile The blue of the ocean surrounds my body As we shower together and remember the day The day the sun burned my skin When the heavens called down And said for us to get married The darkness of my soul I overcame With a ring on my finger and a kiss on the cheek The purple of the mountain bruises my body As you lay in your casket and remember the day The day my world collapsed When the heavens called down And said for you to be taken away The darkness of my life I tried to overcome With a memory in my heart a friend above
