Do You Rue Barbed Pi? (Free verse) by MacFrantic
I am an apple of my own eye An obstruction of justice but While I hang around in a house of cards I cannot find a true joker My love's pilot light is on Yet I can't hold a candle to her She's driving me over the edge And I'm stuck here in the trunk Before it dawns on me That the sun is rising Let your flush emotion Trump that straight face Whenever you break my heart It feels like false gold In my treasured chest You will never hold my breath Life is easy to understand Like high bridges or clouds If you regret us to-get-her Then leave like a tree I am an ocean I am a wasteland

Up the ladder: nicholson
Down the ladder: sweet kissing me there

A funny and clever putting together of sayings and cliches.
If you regret us to-get-her ??
Than leave like a tree -> Then leave like a tree

Thanx Hyp. to-get-her is how you remember to spell together of course B^) A mild oddity that I needed to express.

Interesting enough. The cliches are best when they fit together though.

Best bits - She's driving me over the edge/ stuck in the trunk'

and 'dawns on me/ sun is rising'
