The road to melancholy (Free verse) by INTRANSIT
Thoughts and possibilities appear like orange reflective markers along the side of the highway in the night. One every few feet sometimes curving in the darkness or straightening out in front, disappearing just as fast. There's no time to stop and pluck one off to look at the back and see if it's a winner. The best one can hope for is an off ramp or an extra wide shoulder to pull onto for some rest until the sun comes up.

Down the ladder: Chin-up

Third stanza doesn't need to be there in my opinion. Love it anyway.

I actually love when a writer can honestly talk about what they know.
