post-rock messiah (Free verse) by jsd
heâs a self-celebrated post-rock messiah
burning in his own fire
iâm someone caught in the mire
on a never-ending quest to find something higher
driving past his place on summer nights
i used to feel all right
the chance has passed and iâve lost the fight
he keeps holding onto the idea that this was trite
post-rock messiah
tease me, tease me
youâre such a liar
post-rock messiah
knew what i was getting into
i was an educated buyer
heâs another notion drowning in the ocean
and he never deserved this much devotion
weâre all searching, weâre all growing
heâs just doing it with exaggerated emotion
iâve loved him so long and iâm so tired
it feels like every conversation was wired
my favorite post-rock messiah
the only excuse is that i wanted to feel inspired

Hey, speaking of crack, do you like Jim Morrison, because this poem kind of reminds me of him in several ways? Write back and let me know what you think!
Not too into Jim Morrison, nothing against him, but I've never really listened. :)
