Fire, Water, and Blood (Free verse) by Katzclear
Once... Twice... Three times the pain.. each deceiving once thought of as gain.. The fire's dance the flames comforting warmth Once took from winters killing chance Children huddled round the hearth Compelling you "come closer dear" Walking towards your new-found friend Good words the only ones you hear Fire's powerful burns shall be your end Once taunted by these darkening flames one would turn to fires supposed foe In waters cooling flow you came let the wonderful feelings flow You think you've found your friendship now You trust the waters evermore The liquid consumes you, chokes you, drowns No friendlier than the one before You turn from all life's not worth living at the thought you're appalled You're needed help no one's giving The sharpened blade risen above your head comes hurling down and plunges deep You know you'd be better off dead from the panging wound you begin to seep The blood comes flowing from your own Your final foe, the one you feared Yet somehow you think you should have known somehow this one in which you were so afraid.. was your only friend..... all along... One... Two... Three... Fire... Water...Blood
