The End of the Beginning (Free verse) by DarkThirteens
Staring out my window, Nothing moves in the dream only I can see. There isn't really a warm breeze with the scent of fresh peaches. There isn't really that sunset which is stretched over the horizon displying each color as it's trophy. The texture of dew-covered grass tickles my toes and I giggle. Then loud bells soar through my brain. WARNING comes to mind. But alas, just my alarm clock, reminding me Life is good.

Up the ladder: Memories of modernism
Down the ladder: The Blues

The best part is the 'surprise' at the end, when you realise it's not real, it's just a dream.
