The Cross (Free verse) by PK
She runs to her room Crying again The blood is dripping from her chin He's done it again... She cowers to her room Gasping for air Crawling on her hands and knees She feels around Under the bed There safety is met Behind an empty bottle Lays her only grace A simple chain That heals her pain A simple cross That heals her soul The blood is gone The pain is relieved His assuasive voice Is a sheer Remedy.

Up the ladder: Broken

Somehow to obvious. ("He's done it again"). I wonder if this, worthy, subject might express itself better through a little ambiguity.5.
