Repression (Free verse) by alverland theme park
I'm drowning As you're floating away from the world And most importantly You won't take me with you Let the alcohol wash this all away Or at least give me that impression Drunk and in love is better than sober and alone So bottom's up, here's to me and you Even if "me and you" isn't an "us" anymore I'm lost without you Because when you're gone My repression Is twenty-four/seven But when you're with me It's time to live There's no holding back You won't take me with you But I'll be close by Or at least I'll try Because without you My repression Won't leave

Up the ladder: Life and Love
Down the ladder: she.

"Let the alcohol wash this all" reminds me of my parents who always used to ask me if I was 'doing the drugs' or 'high on the dope', etc.

Dear mom and dad: I was.
