In My Minds Eye (Free verse) by daveslady
I can see in briliant color. I see the ocean crashing into the rock on the side of a lush green mountian. As i sit on the top of a hill, I listen to that oh, so soothing sound of water My mother is with me, just her and I... I cant help but break the silence, and ask her what heaven is like. Her answer was a gift, wrapped so perfectly... I dont dare open it. She urges me with her eyes and smile, the gift she gives is her gift of love. I am overwhelmed with the brilliant light radiating from the box I rise to my feet, as does she. We embrace with tear filled eyes. Not a word is said while we stand, locked in each others arms I dont want it to end I havent felt her warm embrace for a year. After a moment or two she slowly lets go. I look at her with wondering eyes... Why does she have to go? Why must this moment end? A single tear runs down her check as she turns away. I watch the figure as it goes down the hill. Now i stand alone just me and the box. The box that is filled with the love of a mother for her daughter I keep that box close to my heart. Some day i will see her again, only this time it will never end.

If any of you at all seemed even halfway open to real critical comments, this site probably wouldn't be such a depressing, soul-blackening mindfuck. Don't you think?

This one is even greater. I'm sorry you lost your mother. This poem shows how much you love her still. You've done a great job of showing how much she has meant to you!!
