He (Free verse) by Lenore
He, More human than I, His affections warmer, More pronounced. Unlike me- He, Responds to animals In human terms, Raising them to his own level. Unlike me- He, Does not need to dissolve Himself in the universe, In order To feel He stands On the same plane As animals, plants and stones And Me. In he, Earthiness comes Before Identification with the cosmos. Unlike me- There, Was an unredeemed element in him. He, Was eternally questioning. Is it true? Unlike me- He, With the name Lenore Forever On his lips. Unlike me- Let go.
