Derailed (Free verse) by brazen
Never fell back from a question, That I could not answer, Followed closely with lies and truth, Tripping that line like a dancer. Could've ended better than this, Judged with no jury to a sentence endless, Should've had a different end than this, To fall asleep in your arms was harmonies kiss. Sitting here in time as it flashes around me, Past fades from present until your face is what I see, Colorful injections that brought out my smile, Disappears into madness while I paint my new style, Covering a canvas stretched from my own skin, The darkness of my eyes share where I have been. You can't stop a train on a whim with your mind, You can only hope to ride it until the end of the line, That is the worst any man can dream of, To sit empty in a place once filled with love, And that is when you tie yourself down to the tracks, Better to be flattened change then change with the facts.

Up the ladder: Horatio
