My Daffodil bulb (Free verse) by YoungLady
When I went out
The sun was hot
It shone upon
My flower pot
And then I saw
A spike of green
That no one else
Had ever seen
On other days
The things I see
Are mostly old
Except for me
But this green
So new and small
Had never yet
Been seen at all.

When I woke up
The sun was hot
It shone upon
My chamber pot
And then I saw
A coil of brown
And felt I'd best
Inform the towne
On other days
The things I dump
Are mostly grey
And not so plump
But this young brown
So sleek and proud
Is sure to draw
A mighty crowd!
