water damage (Free verse) by skaskowski
her resurfacing, rehearsed and hurting, she set her sweet smile out to dry. her shirt disturbingly sticking and syrupy, she set her ashen arms out to dry. i must have forgotten to ask her name, because she set her larynx out to dry. and i think i saw her sink back down after she set her heavy head out to dry.
