A Rainy Afternoon (Free verse) by dragonfly
Music for a rainy afternoon echoes through the hall. The kettle heats its contents, then makes its call. I pour myself a cup of tea, then grab the parchment and a pen, and I'm reminded I'm alone again with nothing but erratic thoughts and incoherent voices debating in my head. I've had this book opened to the same page for the past two hours just reading the same line over and over again. My home hasn't had a break from the onslaught of the showers. I can hear it pound violently on my doors trying to break in and I can't believe how elusive daylight has been.
