Neophyte Bourgeoisie (Free verse) by EAger to Offend
We own this view Now, after such a wait. It is well earned And someday we will afford The time to enjoy it, …And the sauna, and the pool, And the workout room…. In summer, this view adorned Our late afternoon brunches. We would return the calls We’d slept through and offer The traffic report, live from the 8th floor Just for fun Because we own the view. How is it that this stone-brained High school dropout Can keep up with the Joneses? He couldn’t be plotting a cottage Right now if it wasn’t for his Sweet Lady Macbeth. So even though she is back On the school schedule, And I work graveyard shift On the weekends, When I get home and shower off the smoke, I drip dry on our deck, Cool Autumn breezes spiking my skin Before dawn and sleep. I watch the 401’s river of lights And modestly think, “I can make do with two kids …I don’t really need the extra point five.”

Up the ladder: I, Ann Boleyn

Yea, sometimes life is sweet, sometimes it's the extra's.(The deck, afternoon brunches, Lady McBeth?)
Sometimes it's time alone.

Yes, and my Lady Macbeth is the sweetest of these.
