entangling my sweetheart sinks (Free verse) by skaskowski
dead when sleep sets in or out sleep death each night sleep death each night each night i die before i sleep. a thousand deaths of self-destruction, deconstruction of all possible positive thoughts amplification of their antitheses. death with sleep but sleep escapes but death remains but sleep restrains my mind from dying completely, just partially, i'm stuck to each surface of a 9000-sided prism equally. chained behind the bars of a new prison hourly. i think perhaps it's a fucking seizure seizing me squeezing me bleeding me empty or perhaps it's an illness i'll never recover from poisoning quivering bodily harm. death in a night in a moment in a song each song plays over song plays over and over again at the same damn time this time i slide like slime inside each porous surface in my mind and ride the chiming notes each time i choke and rhyming lines keep climbing up each vine or rope entwined that chokes my sighing shaking throat. i hope that this is not the end of something i cant hope to begin.

morbidly unamusing.
SEEK OUT A NOVEL THEME! Don't be squelched by the waters of cliche! I know it's a temptation to resort to EASY, readymade topics...but it's not good.
Very nice imagery, though. You've got my six.
