Mercury (Free verse) by david
Hobnobbing around the Mercurian noon, with
only a thin whiskey-coloured veil
to waylay it,
the Sun must burn carte blanche in the sky,
growing white-hot and
even larger
as the day grows, spitting, burgeoning and
flaring out at the seams
like an infrared sunfish, gravid with roe.
