cage (Free verse) by J-tweezy24
Wake up in the morn and what do I see… Myself caged wanting to be free… It’s hard to get out of the steel based box… Metals all cold on my feet, cuz I have on no sox… I wake everyday in the same place… Wondering if ill ever feel the sun on my face… Wanting to better myself but can’t go anywhere… All I have is a mirror, at which I can stare… There is one way that I can get out of all this… You can tell by all the slits on my wrist… But that’s not how I want things to turn out… I need faith so it can erase all my doubt… I feel weak in the knees from not moving much… Moving my hands loosing the sense of touch… Hear nothing but myself breath in the cage… Silence makes me crazy; I feel a sudden rage… Not wanting to stay here, I want to get away… No one to talk to so what can I say… Looking at the place I rest and go to bed… A busted old blanket and rock for my head… But I will make it out some time, some day… Faith in god will show me the right way… Go each day knowing soon I will be free… Out of this cage which imprisons me BY: TWEEZY
