Long Journey (Free verse) by libby_28
You’ve pushed me into this slumber of sadness: Down this bitter road to loneliness, Only for one day to be blindsided. Body thrown about as a rag doll, Shards of glass entering my skin, Pain, but only for a short time. Blood on the pavement, my mind elsewhere, This is something I wasn't ready for. It will take years to let go. Wounds will heal in time, Only to reveal scars to last forever. These are my bitter memories of you.

Up the ladder: Monument
Down the ladder: letting off angry emotions

a bit prosaic and cliched.

'Blood on the pavement my mind elsewhere' I like though distant and irreverent

A truly mindnumbing guff of a car accident.
