Friends? (Free verse) by Elvish Jade
Won't listen to me. fine. Won't talk to me. fine Screw your fantasy world, it'll never happen. All you're doing is killing yourself and everyone around. Destroying all you made for the sake of your happiness. Happiness that will never come with the path you're taking. You finally talk. fine Well what do you want me to say? Sit and smile, pretend everything's alright? Hold everything inside and act the perfect act? Smile till I die, crying inside? I used to, but I can't anymore. You wanna change? Well so do I. Still you won't listen. fine You act the act but do you really care? Or do you feel obliged to? Don't hang onto this out of pity either we're friends or not. Sick of your shit treating me like yesterday's trash. Give me an answer, quit leaving me hanging all alone. You say you're sorry that you hate the way you are. I wish I could believe you but I don't know what to think anymore. Heard this line before, many a time out of your mouth. I hate the way things are I wish I could change them but I can't. I can't say I wish we never went out cause it was great while it lasted But I guess best friends aren't meant to date. I wish I knew how things would be before all this. I would trade that great month for many more of friendship. But I can't. It's all up to you now.
