The Callous (Free verse) by sunfloweronfire
She weeps there
Sobbing
Shrieking
Screaming through the walls
He stands there
Leering
Laughing
Loitering in her midst
All the while forever missing that essence in his soul
While he rips her innocence into shreds
Rings
Rings
Rings
Her death toll
And all the while that piece of humanity
Engraved in each one's mind
Is somehow lacking in his thoughts
As he cannot seem to find
That whisper that forms a differentiation
Between the thin pale lines of wrong and right
A C O N S C I E N C E
He's losing sight
For without this
We are merely blind...
