You Were There (Free verse) by capachijim
In times of darkness, in times of sadness, In my darkest hours or pain and despair, When I thought there was nothing left, My life was meaningless and nothing, You were there. Across a crowded room, our eyes locked, And forever we would never be the same. I’d sneak to find you, learn your name, Earn your love. We’d meet in secret, swearing our love to each other. Loving every minute we were together, And hating ever minute we were apart. Friends and family would never know, All would be confined in us and the angels, Who to us safeguard. My life was forever changed from a dull prison, To a wondrous world that I can fully love. We will be together, no matter what it takes, In love, in death, in pain, in spirit, Forever I will love and be loved. All because you were there.

I met a girl with tangerine wedges I wish would pick up the phone, and say this to me, but I know she won't, because I'm the devil.
