Dont break my heart (Free verse) by Cali
Sitting here all alone Wondering where you are Trying to work out where I stand In your precious heart What you say is so sweet I try to think things through But I don’t know if words are words And what you say is true Do you even like me? Do you even care? Or do you just need someone to hug And assure you they’ll always be there I don’t know how it happened When, why or how All I know is I love you It’s too late to turn back now I asked you not to break my heart Or lead my mind astray I have this feeling your playing me And my heart will break one day Prove to me this feeling is wrong And fill me with your love Show me you’re that angel they talk about The guardian from up above Teach me to believe in love And filter all my fears Of losing someone like your self It would save me quiet tears I will go and leave you this In hope you will succeed In giving me everything It’s you I really need. As long as there’s a heart in me You’ll always be a part of me

Up the ladder: Next To Me
Down the ladder: Irony
