Secrets (Free verse) by joydoll
I told you all my secrets And showed you the places That no one’s ever seen. I didn’t do it lightly, It was done in love and trust. But now that trust And love has gone, It doesn’t give you licence, To share my secrets with someone else. I don’t give you permission To advertise the things I said And shared with you. Those things were exclusive, Unknown, brand new. Now they seem like second hand, Used, abused, of no value to you. I can’t unsay those words, Unshare those thoughts, However much I wish. But I can start over, Cause since then I’ve aquired New secrets, new words, That won’t be shared with you.

I have been there in thought and deed. I prefer the end of this poem to the beginning.
