Grace (Lyric) by slana5
I look around this empty bar, Where drinks are close but love is far. So many faces in the crowd, All are lost and acting proud. Some want sex and icy beer, To drown their sorrow and their fear. Others are looking for some fun, Wherever the party is, they run. Just trying to keep their youth alive, Youth released in a local dive. Girls are busy flirting, with all the hottest guys, While they, with their egos bursting, Feed them sexy lies. And for a moment, for one brief moment, Both are happy, Both feel sacred and unique. Because for that sweet moment, They find the comfort they both seek. And then the moment passes, Old roles once more resumed, Relationships forsaken, Which from the start were doomed. And I, I’m left here standing, In this lonely bar, Trying to regain my landing, To wash away this scar. In the midst of this strange tapestry, Of popularity and fame, And brokenness and shame, I stand. Of bursting egos and cocky guys, Of racing hearts and seductive eyes, Of music seeping to my core, And pounding feet upon the floor. I stand. And I realize, That we are all in this bar together, Just taking shelter from bad weather. Trying to disguise our face, Searching desperately for GRACE.
